A warm welcome to our school's website, which we hope will help you find out all about us. This school was opened by members of St John the Baptist Church in 1868 and we have thrived ever since. Our close relationship with the church community is still strong today, as reflected in the Christian values which are implicit in every aspect of school life.

From the moment you walk through the door, you will see that this is a happy and caring place with a nurturing, family ethos. We believe that school should be enjoyable and exciting, and a place where all children feel a sense of belonging and responsibility.

Ofsted graded our curriculum as 'outstanding'. We aim to make learning irresistible, with creativity at the heart of all we do. Our staff team are experienced and committed to excellence in teaching, learning and pastoral care and they are enthusiastically supported by our school governors. We work closely with parents, and view the relationship as one of partnership.
