Admissions - General Information

Busbridge CofE Junior School is a Voluntary Aided Own Admissions Authority (OAA) school. We are a 2 form entry into Year 3 and have 8 classes across four year groups from Year 3 to Year 6 (age range 7 to 11 years of age).
 
Primary School Applications - Year 3 September 2025 entry:
 
Please Note - The admission arrangements for September 2024 entry, will not be affected by the formation of the Minster Parish of Godalming, coming into effect on 1st January 2024.

From 4th November 2024, Parents/Carers who live in Surrey will be able to apply for a primary school place.  Applicants can apply online at www.surreycc.gov.uk/admissions.
 
The closing date for Year 3 applications is 15th January 2025.  Applications submitted after this date will be considered as late, unless they could not reasonably have been submitted by the closing date and are submitted by 12th February 2025.  Applications must be returned directly to the child's home LA and not the school. 
 
On 16th April 2025, applicants who applied online will be sent an email or receive a notification through the app 'ParentComms' with their log in to their online account to view the outcome.  Letters will be sent via first class post to applicants who applied on paper and do not have an email address.
 
By 30th April 2025, applicants will be asked to accept or decline their offer online, or if they have made a paper application, by returning the paper reply slip to the School Admissions team.
 
Secondary School Applications - Year 7 September 2024 entry:
 
The closing date for Secondary School applications is 31st October 2024.
 
On 3rd March 2025, applicants who applied online will be sent an email or receive a notification through the app 'ParentComms' with their outcome.  Online applicants may also log in to their online account to view the outcome.  Letters will be sent via first class post to applicants who applied on paper and do not have an email address.
 
By 17th March 2025, applicants will be asked to accept or decline their offer online or, if they have made a paper application, by returning the paper reply slip to the School Admissions team.

As an Own Admission Authority we as a school are responsible for applying our admission criteria, ranking the list of applicants and maintaining a waiting list where we are over-subscribed. Surrey County Council Admissions manage the application process and has a statutory duty to coordinate applications and allocations for Year 3 as part of the normal admissions new round, and also processes in year applications on the school’s behalf.

Our Admissions criteria for 2024/25 and 2025/26 are available below.
 
For applications made under criteria 4 (Church attendance) of our Admissions policy for admission, please note the Supplementary Information/Benefice Church Verification Form (SIF) should be completed and returned by the parent/carer to the Busbridge Church Office for verification. A copy of the completed/verified SIF form should then be returned to the school office and a copy attached to the online application via Surrey Admissions within the required application date deadline. A copy of the SIF can be downloaded below or a paper copy requested from the school office.  For the 2025/26 year of entry it has been agreed that the parish boundaries for the Minister Parish of Godalming are identified using the www.achurchnearyou.com website and a link to this has been included in the policy
 
For applications made under criteria 5 (Staff) of our Admissions policy for admission, please note the Supplementary Information Form (SIF) should be completed and returned by the parent/carer to the school office for verification. A copy of the completed/verified SIF form should then be returned to the school office and a copy attached to the online application via Surrey Admissions within the required application date deadline. A copy of the SIF can be downloaded below or a paper copy requested from the school office.
