The Governing Body of Busbridge CofE Junior School has a statutory responsibility for the strategic management and development of the school. Our statutory duty is also to promote high standards of educational attainment and ensure effective management of the school's resources.
The Governing Body is responsible for:
- ensuring that all relevant policies and procedures are in place and appropriate targets are set
- monitoring and reviewing the school budget
- the appointment of staff including the headteacher
The Governing Body is not responsible for the day to day management and operation of the school which is the responsibility of the Headteacher, Richard Catchpole and his Leadership team. As a Governing Body we work closely with the Headteacher and his Leadership team to fulfil our statutory obligations.

Parent Governor Vacancy/Election - February 2021
We are seeking nominations for parents to stand for election as a parent governor of Busbridge CE (Aided) Junior School. Parent governors are elected as directed by Schedule 1, Regulation 6 of The School Governance (Constitution) (England) Regulations 2012.
Nominations for parent governor vacancies are made by parents/carers of pupils registered at the school. Should there be more nominations than vacancies a secret ballot will be held. Parents/carers of registered pupils attending the school may offer themselves for election. Parent governors can serve for a term of up to four years irrespective of how long their child remains as a registered pupil of the school.
Parents are invited to submit nominations to the headteacher using the nomination form below. Each person must be proposed and seconded by parents of registered pupils presently attending the school and the nominee must also be a parent and signify his or her willingness to stand for appointment or election.
Completed nomination forms should be returned to Richard Catchpole, Headteacher (Returning Officer) at the school address or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 26th February 2021 by 12.00 noon.

Thursday 11th February - Parents' letter with nomination forms sent home via email.
Friday 26th February by 12.00 noon - Last day/time for returning nominations.
Thursday 11th March 2021 - Online/paper Ballot sent to parents (and notification of date of the candidates' meeting, if appropriate).
Monday 22nd March 2021 @ 12 noon - last day/time for voting online (or return of ballot paper, if issued)

Monday 22nd March 2021 - candidates notified of result
Tuesday 23rd March 2021 - parents/carers notified of result
